Lily Kugler, LCDC

Lily is a strong believer that recovery for an addict starts with the family. She has a knack for gaining the trust of adolescents and their family through her leadership, honesty, youthful personality, and love for recovery. She is skillful in identifying real underlying issues that lead to substance abuse as well as develops out of the box treatment plans to help teens achieve and maintain sobriety. She believes that each family and teen is different and needs individualized care that promotes healthy behavior, emotional stability, spiritual connection, and physical wellness.

Lily was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Her shining character is made up of love and compassion, yet has a fiery nature to her. Lily entered recovery in 2004 when she was 15 years old. Navigating through her own life challenges she discovered a calling to help other teens find the gifts of recovery. She began working in the substance abuse field with Cornerstone Recovery in 2008, as support staff which inspired her to become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. In 2012 she graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. She went on to work for an alternative peer group in Kingwood, Texas developing a safe harbor for adolescents and families to receive hope, healing, and loving accountability. In 2016, Lily began developing a training program with Cornerstone Recovery to spread the alternative peer group model to other cities across Texas with the vision in mind to impact other States.

At the start of her career, Lily found peace and serenity through the practice of Yoga. She shared her passion for the physical meditation, deep inquiry, and principle based practice of yoga with her clients, family, and friends by partnering with BIG Power Yoga. Through BIG Power Yoga's Teacher Empowerment Program, Lily received her 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certification in 2015. She has developed content for wilderness trips, weekend yoga retreats for young women in recovery as well as day long intensives to set intentions and cultivate team building for therapeutic wilderness adventure trips. In 2016, she pursued a 300 hour yoga teacher training to widen her skills as a yoga teacher and to incorporate into her counseling practice as a therapeutic tool for recovery. Outside of counseling and teaching Yoga, you can find Lily traveling across the United States and around the world with her family.

Lily is an experienced counselor focusing her practice in individual and family counseling, as well as group counseling. She is a skillful interventionist aiding in teens residential treatment and helping develop a strong aftercare plan with the family when their teen discharges.
